James,
U ain't nuttin if u ain't a Google speed bump! I just love that analogy to your experience. I was also banned last Fall, but I can attribute that to promoting single page landing pages, like our old "people search" page earlier in my IM career. I didn't know better.
I've made all the necessary corrections. I've built a content website (I don't know if it meets their maturity clause, but I don't care...I'm not that mature anyway), I've put no-follows on my pages with affiliate links, and I continuously ad content to my site(s), and SEO my pages with title tags, descriptions, keywords, alt text, and everything else that that monoply company demands. They even banned my Adsense account and pocketed my commission saying that "they would be redistributed to advertisers.'' Yeah, right!
But, I'll still make another poke at them sometime in the future. It's the challenge I like. Even though they banned me, I received a $100 coupon last week to advertise with them. I have four kids and a wife, so my options are still wide open.
But, the irony in this is "who cares." I agree, they've burned the people that got them to where they are, for the most part. But, we can still dominate organic search if we practice the right techniques. And, that's free traffic. So, why pay when you can it free. Please don't read too much into that statement.
All the Best,
Rick
