Topic: I've Done All 3 Steps, Now What's Next?
This is a big question that a lot of newbies ask because there is no step by step guide on what to do next. A lot of answers have been given in the past but really do not give a full picture of what a newbie should do next in building their business after completing all 3 steps.
SO, AFTER COMPLETING ALL 3 STEPS, WHAT SHOULD I DO NEXT?
This is a loaded question and a lot depends on individual situation, interests, and level of commitment to their business. Lets take a step back and then go from there.
The first thing to do after completing all 3 steps is to THINK BEFORE YOU ACT. This would save you time, money and effort in the long run and you will see results sooner than later. There is no single answer that fits all and the answer is heavily depended on what you have in mind in the first place. To help you in your thinking process, consider the following 10 questions:
1) What are my strengths and interests based on experience?
2) What are my goals for the next 45 days?
3) Should I focus on the people search side or the business opportunity?
4) Should I focus on honing in my skills first or jump right into building the business?
5) Should I focus on becoming a Super Sponsor?
6) Should I focus on building my own brand?
7) Should I get an autoresponder or not?
8) Should I build my business with all income streams or not? (Updated May 14th)
9) Should I focus on free advertising or paid advertising?
10) How much time can I commit to this business each day?
Once you have gone through answering those questions, the second thing you need to do is create an ACTION PLAN.
Your ACTION PLAN should have the answers to each of those questions. Lets go through each question and see what it is that needs to be decided.
What Do The 10 Questions Answer For Me?
1) Once you determine your interests and strengths, you will be more passionate about what you're doing each day and the quality of your work would not be compromised. You will be motivated to do what is necessary to grow your business. Here are examples of your strengths and interests and where you can leverage your advertising and promotional efforts. If you:
Like to socialize, then you can focus on twitter, facebook, and social bookmarking such as Digg, Delicious and StumbleUpon
Like to research and test then you can focus on keyword research, market niche, pay per click advertising based on keywords, search engine
Like to write then you can focus on article marketing, press releases, develop wordpress blogs, forum marketing, email marketing, or even write your own ebook
Like to talk then you can focus on video marketing when you can talk directly to your audience such as youtube and metacafe
Like to design then you can focus on designing banners, splash pages, landing pages and your blog
Like to teach then you can focus on developing training videos, write how to articles and ebooks and how to blogs
The idea is to match your strengths and interests to the advertising method so you can see results sooner and quicker while having fun doing them.
2) You won't get pay unless you've maintained step 3 for 45 days. So, what are your goals for the next 45 days? Do you want to earn $75 so you can get paid the $125 as well or do you want to become a Super Sponsor and have all your fixed costs covered by Tissa? You have to set SMART goals. They have to be Specific, Measurable, Attainable, Realistic and Time bound.
Here is an example of a poor goal:
I want to get 100 referrals.
Here is an example of a good goal:
I want to grow my business to 100 referrals in the next 45 days by writing 1 marketing article about ACME each day for the next 45 days in Goarticles, EzineArticles...etc.
3) Depending on which side of the business that you focus on, your advertising strategies are very different. If you are advertising the people search engine, your target audience is very different and your focus should be on offering free people search results after people unlock their search engine. If your focus is on the referral side, then you can leverage on the customized forum and webinar links with all the affiliate links in the referral page in your back office.
4) There is really no shortcut here. If you're a newbie and have never done any internet marketing before but feel pumped to jump right into the business opportunity before learning to earn, it could cost you time and money in the long run. If you start promoting without having a clear action plan or the right knowledge, your results could be much smaller than the money and time you put into it. For example, if you don't know how to correctly setup a pay per click campaign but start advertising it in Google, MSN, or Yahoo then you could end up losing money. If you spend a lot of time promoting to a non target audience using article marketing, then you could be spending a lot of time writing articles and don't see much result either.
5) If you decide to become a Super Sponsor, it means you need to take time to learn all of its requirements, the ACME business and spend time in the forums to pay it forward by helping others. It could take longer than a month or two to achieve as well. Once you become a Super Sponsor, Tissa will help you to grow your business through PPC advertising of the forums as well as elsewhere too. However, it will take time away from your business.
6) If you're not looking for a quick return such as advertising your presell page and affiliate links in the referral page but want to build your own brand, then you need to create a blog featuring unique content, themes and with specific advertising hooks to grow your business. The effort is huge at the beginning but the pay off could be huge in the long run as your blog ages and gets more traffic.
7) An autoresponder is vital to growing a big business. As your business grows, it's important to stay in contact with your referrals and an autoresponder would leverage your time and effort by allowing you to set up follow up messages in advance with your referrals while you spend time growing your business. You need to determine when you should start incorporating an autoresponder. In the mean time, Gmail is a good choice.
8) Step 1 income streams are all free but not so for Step 3. To enable all income streams, you must complete all 3 Steps. When you enable all income streams, you increase your earning power by offering your new referrals with more web hosting options when completing Step 2, and additional recurring income streams from the different affiliate programs. Both the Shoemoney System and Affilorama do not require membership subscriptions to earn recurring income but all the others do. Depending on your monthly budget and how serious you are in building your APS business, then you may want to sign up for paid membership and become affiliates for each of the programs. If nothing else, you'll benefit from Shoemoney System and Affilorama with Step 3 completion. An active 45 day Step 3 subscription is required to be paid APS referral fees.
9) Both paid and free advertising are only as effective as the content that you provide to your audience. Pay per click could produce faster results if done correctly since you are targetting people who are searching for your service or product at the moment of demand. You are actively pulling traffic. Free advertising's effectiveness varies depending on how visible your ads are to search engines or target audience in your venue choice.
10) The less time you can commit to your business each day, the more laser focus and selective you have to be in your action plan. If your focus is on learning before building the business, then you can focus on watching a single webinar under TalkToTissa in your back office each day, complete a lesson in Wealthy Affiliate every day, focus on specific forum topics each day, or watch a GDI webinar each day.
If you are focused on building your business, then you need to focus your energy in those advertising methods that aligns well with your strengths and interests each day. T Harv Eker, author of Secrets Of The Millionaire Mind, says "where your attention goes, energy flows and the results show."
As you can see, what you should do next after completing all 3 steps is entirely up to you! You decide how you want to spend your time and effort each day and how you are going to grow your business. You create an action plan and work the plan. This saying is true, "if you fail to plan, then you plan to fail." You would need to be thinking in the mindset of where you want to be.
