Topic: Forum Marketing: Can You Say Easy Pickings?

Now that we have the new forum referral link I can't think of an easier way to market this program for free than forum marketing.  Go join related forums and leave some quality posts.  Of course you'll want to setup your forum signature with your referral link.

This <insert name> forum ROCKS, but does it pay?
Earn up to $233.85 a month at this forum!

As soon as people realize that there is another forum in this business that actually pays they'll be over here in no time.  Now go land some forum junkies!  Just make sure you don't bring over any obnoxious people!  big_smile

Re: Forum Marketing: Can You Say Easy Pickings?

could you explain how to set up your forum signature with your referral link to those of us who arent computer savvy

Re: Forum Marketing: Can You Say Easy Pickings?

Hey Chuck,

Every forum is different depending on what forum software they are running, but most are pretty similar.  I can give you instructions at this forum.

To setup your forum signature:

1) Click on Profile in the page header.
2) Click on Signature
3) Compose your signature.  If you want to pretty it up use the BBCode found here.  You can generate your forum referral link in your APS back office.  Just click on Referrals and then you'll see the link to create your own referral link.
4) Click the Update Profile button.

Emphasis on quality posts.  Don't post at forums for the sake of posting at forums - and risking spam complaints.  Just like any other form of marketing, provide VALUE, first and foremost.  If you provide enough value in your posts, folks will naturally check your signature, and the rest will follow.  The last thing I want is spam complaints from other forums about APS affiliates!  Properly executed however, it's a great marketing strategy.

Re: Forum Marketing: Can You Say Easy Pickings?

what exactly is the forum referral link i tried to set it up with a link to my blog and also tried with my direct referral link and both times it said those destinations are not allowed ...?

Re: Forum Marketing: Can You Say Easy Pickings?

Re: Forum Marketing: Can You Say Easy Pickings?

In the APS back office under Referrals there is a link that says "Click here to generate custom referral links to the forum and Webinars!"  Just enter any URL from the forum and it will generate a custom referral link that is encoded with your ID so you'll receive credit for any sign-ups through that link.

Here's an example of what it will look like:

http://Acme-People-Search.com/hop.php?r … Q&tid=

I created the above link by entering http:///www.acme-people-search-forum.com, but you can create a link to a specific post - like Tissa's post outlining the Super Sponsor benefits.

If you want to pretty it up you can use BBCode.

Just enter your referral link with the BBCode URL brackets wrapping your referral link.  It will look like this:

[url=http://Acme-People-Search.com/hop.php?r=1237560001XXXX&t=YWNtZS1wZW9wbGUtc2VhcmNoLWZvcnVtLmNvbQ&tid=]This Forum Pays Up To $233.85 A Month![/url]

And the output will look like this:

This Forum Pays Up To $233.85 A Month!

No, that's what the custom referral link does.  It's takes standard links and then encodes them with your unique ID.  Generate a link and then click on it.  It will bring you to the forum.  Then click on the Start Earning link in the page header and you'll see on the sign-up page that it's your referral link.  Enter a junk e-mail and then check your APS back office and you'll see the sign-up.

The cookie lasts for 7 days so you'll receive credit during that time - unless the person picks up another member's cookie.  The last cookie gets the sale.

Re: Forum Marketing: Can You Say Easy Pickings?

lets say i see u in another forum somewhere and i click your link, and it brings me to this forum and i like what i see and decide to join..where would i go to sign up and how do you end up getting credit for that.

Re: Forum Marketing: Can You Say Easy Pickings?

ok i think i understand what your saying ...once they are directed here if they click above where it says start earning then i would receive credit for that referral..is that right?.....one other thing ,after i generated the link i tested it but now i dont know where its at to copy it i cnt find it again.

You can click on any sign-up link whether it's another member's link or not and I'll get the referral.  The only way I won't get the referral is if you pick up another member's cookie.

You can use these custom referral links to send members to these other pages as well:

    * acme-people-search-forum.com
    * talktotissa.com (registration for the next free Webinar)
    * gotomeeting.com (direct Webinar registration links)
    * recorded-webinars.com (recordings of previous Webinars)
    * meetup.com/tissa-godavitarne

It's a great way to give prospects a sneak peak into the program so they can see it's legitimate.

Re: Forum Marketing: Can You Say Easy Pickings?

i get it now i just dont know where to go to find that link i just generated  lol

Re: Forum Marketing: Can You Say Easy Pickings?

What I do is I generate custom referral links to the all the pages I want to use then I copy and paste the links into a Word document and save it.  If you lost the link just go generate another one.

Cool!  You should start a DIY home improvement blog.  Ebay has a cool widget that allows you to insert category specific auctions into your website.  I know tools like nail guns and such sell well.  I bought one once off Ebay!
