Topic: Free splash page with Tissa's mug

Here's a splash page that I have promised a few members.  Everyone can have it.  Early reports are it converted pretty well on the traffic exchanges (decent conversions as far as traffic exchanges go).

Hi Renee,

I'll write more detailed instructions tomorrow if someone else doesn't first because I can barely keep my eyes open right now. smile

Basically you just need to unzip the file and open the slash.html page in a text editor or HTML editor and replace my username with your username or you can change the link URL to a page of your choice.  I have it just setup to go to the direct sign up page.  Then you save the file (rename it with a .htm extension if you use GDI) and upload it along with the image to your web host using a FTP client (I use File Zilla which is free).

Thanks Chris,

I've been leaning html and css slowly and about to attempt my own landing page.
I didn't want to use a traditional site template that Google sees millions of times a day.
Viewing your page source and using that as a template to edit with my own scheme and jpeg
will be a huge time saver.

If you are using GDI to host your people search engine you can upload it there.  I'll put up more detailed instructions soon because this is something more people should learn how to do.

Regarding splash pages, anyone done some tests with flash splash pages ? are they better or worse then the plain jpg+text ?

I work in TI, but not on the web, and i work a lot with flash, but more in user friendly local aplications, so i need to keep things simple, but on the web there is so much more we can do, just dont know if some folks might find it a bit too overwelming, or even if the % of leads that dont have the flash driver installed is significant.

I will eventually do some test on this, but if someone already has, no need to re-invent the wheel smile

You should have an FTP to upload your files when you signed up for your hosting... Go to your hosting company and ask for your FTP details... You can then upload all your images and any changes you want to make to your search engine index page...

I also have a more accurate version that reads:  "Earn up to a buck forty five" but when I showed it to Rob he was like, "That's stupid.  $1.45?!?"  I thought I was being creative and cool, but Rob shot that down.  But if anyone wants it it's available along with the .PSD file.
