Welcome to the Forum.  I can understand that you are a little overwhelmed when it comes to this business, but that's because of your relative newness to Internet marketing.  Heh... you've landed on a forum with a lot of people that want to see you succeed in this business.  Plus, Tissa pays people to help you.  It doesn't get much better than that for you!

The first thing you need is an understanding of some basic Forum rules.  I checked out both your links, but only because they were in the text of your post.  We don't do that.  We do, however, put our personal links in our signature.  Just go to your "Profile" and you should be able to figure out how to do this.  If not, just ask!

As Linda mentioned, it is now somewhat difficult advertising the system generated 'people search' search engine.  The major search engines, but mostly Google, have recently been very strict on some of their new rules.  Since there are literally thousands of people using a similar site, this use now violates Googles 'original' content rules.

It is much better to start your own website.  You mentioned that you wanted to start writing articles on 'people search.'  That's a fantastic idea!  Plus, you need content on your website.  The best place to start is to tell your own story.  Have you ever tried to find someone?  Why? How did it turn out?   If you don't have your own story, ask some family members the same question.  But, get a story if you can. 

You can also go to HD Publishing for ideas.   They have a whole series of articles.  You can only use these articles to promote HD Publishing, but they will generate some ideas.

Here are some quickies:

Write articles geared toward a married couple: 
* Are they buying a new home.  Maybe they want to know who they are buying it from.
* Do they have kids.  Maybe the would like to know if a child predator lives next door.
* Are they getting ready to sign a contract with someone.  Maybe they want to do a little research beforehand.

Write articles geared toward small business owners:
* Are they hiring a new person. Maybe they should check out that person's employement records.

OMG, that was very helpful. You literally just gave me an excellent idea. I will def tell a story and mention the different topics of people searching. And you know what, I was wondering how I could put my signature:)

I do have one question about the articles. Since I have to use my website, which sites are great for creating a nich?How do I go about posting the refferel links so that it doesn't look look like a sales page?

How can I tell how much I make a day from people searching through my search engine?

You have just taken the first step to learn what is needed to succeeding with APS. The best thing that you can do at this time is to read through the forum about each step of the ACME business.

Steps 1, 2 and 3

Do not rush through this, this is important. You should understand each step fully to get the most from this business.

Also, if you cannot afford any of the steps, do not proceed. You will be able to make money with promoting Step 1 only.

Hi,Congratulation on completing the three steps.Now when it comes to advertising your website,its easy but you have to learn.first i would recommend you join the wealthy affiliate or if you dont have enough money you can join affilorama.Here you will get all the teaching neccessary on marketing your website and directing leads to your search engine.i would also recommend using the forum occasionally since you get to learn alot from the super sponsors.Nevertheless you can use social networks like twitter and facebook to market youself in a friendly way;).good luck.:)

Welcome to the Forum and to the ACME People Search business!  It's the best business on the Internet, so you've done real well.  Not only did you join the business, but you are willing to get assistance... you joined the Forum.  A lot of people join the business, but get lost when they try to do it all by themselves.

You have a lot of friends here that want to see you succeed and are very willing to help you!  Like yourself, I was a bit confused on how to get started, so let me tell you what I learned really quick.  You have two components to your business.

1.  You have your pre-built people search engine from which you earn commissions from Clickbank, HD Publishing, TrialPay, Commission Junction (cj.com) and Google adsense.  Make sure you establish your relationships with these companies under Step 1.  There are videos there that will help you.  This is completely free and your search engine will be hosted on the company servers.  So, it's not really YOUR's at this point.

2.  However, if you complete Step 2, then you fully OWN your people search engine.  This is where you choose your hosting company... either HostGator or GDI.  When you host your own search engine, you get to start branding your business.  First of all, you get to name your domain.  Preferrably, you would do some keyword research to find a domain name that is friendly to the major search engines (Google, Yahoo and Bing), but you probably haven't gotten that far yet.  I know of several keywords that work very well, so let me make a recommendation.  The keyword I have in mind is "free people search."  You can try to get this domain names: free-people-search-in-US.com or .net, or .ws.  But, essentially something like that.

This is the only business on the Internet that offers a completely free people search.  And, 'people search' represents about 30 percent of all searches.  It's a huge market, and you should concentrate on making it work for you.

3.  When you move on to Step 3, you literally turn your business into a money making machine. You open up all income streams: GDI, HostGator, GVO, Wealthy Affiliate, ShoeMoney, and Affilorama.  However, you need to learn how to market, advertise and promote your business before you jump to this level.  If you already have these skills, then that's a completely different story. 

Just a couple of other recommendation for now.  When you have a question, make a separate 'thread' or post.  That way... your question won't get burried in another thread.  Check out the Index at the top of the page.  We have categories or threads on Step 1, Step 2, Step 3, Free and Paid advertising, etc.  Spend some time learning the layout of the Forum.  This will really benefit you.  And, read the posts that are already there in these categories... you can learn a lot. 

Most importantly... keep asking your questions.  It's great having you here!

I personally found article marketing to be the easiest way to promote.
I invested couple $ an got myself few ebooks, to figure it out. (see my signature)
Now I write one article per day, and it has come easier every day big_smile

Hi Melliecara, it's great that article marketing is working for you. I love that method too.  However you've been a member of the forum long enough and should know by now that the rules of the forum don't permit us to ask people to look at our signatures in the body of our posts. I completed the step 1, 2, and 3 just 5 days ago, went straight in POF and Fb advertised 3 campaigns each for my APS for 3 days saw a few click through, no sales and then it occurred to me that my APS website does not actually look nice and no one might really be interested, so I paused 6 of them this afternoon, after spending some more money. I need somebody to tell me specifically what next steps I need to take to earn money, not just a bunch of links indicating more steps (monetary subscriptions) without definite explanation of how this will make the money back into my pocket, for someone so "green" to Affiliate Marketing this is confusing and makes me feel like I'm been led into a tunnel. To me it seems Affiliorama, Shoemoney and WA have pretty much same services & tools (I stand to be corrected) I'm I supposed to subscribe to them all or what?. Like marketing anywhere, I believe buying more and more subscription does not guarantee profit, its "holding of the hand of a newbie" every step of the way until the first 'sale' is what I call "teaching how to fish" without mincing words, I NEED HELP CAN SOMEONE HELP ME PLEASE?  I'm getting confused already, needing a friend to help, especially if you have been in my position before and you're now seeing some ROI.:(

I need somebody to tell me specifically what next steps I need to take to earn money, not just a bunch of links indicating more steps (monetary subscriptions) without definite explanation of how this will make the money back into my pocket, for someone so "green" to Affiliate Marketing this is confusing and makes me feel like I'm been led into a tunnel. To me it seems Affiliorama, Shoemoney and WA have pretty much same services & tools (I stand to be corrected) I'm I supposed to subscribe to them all or what?. Like marketing anywhere, I believe buying more and more subscription does not guarantee profit, its "holding of the hand of a newbie" every step of the way until the first 'sale' is what I call "teaching how to fish" without mincing words, I NEED HELP CAN SOMEONE HELP ME PLEASE?  I'm getting confused already, needing a friend to help, especially if you have been in my position before and you're now seeing some ROI.:(

Welcome to the business!  I like your attitude!  If you hang in and do the things that need to be done, I'm sure you'll be successful in this business.  But, please understand... this is a process.  It will probably take you a few months to really get cranked up.

Here are the basic tools that you need:

1. Your own branded/hosted website
2. An Auto-Responder to build your LIST and build relationships with people
3. Some type of video production capability.  60 percent of traffic is now generated by video.  And, you need traffic... so get used to using video.

I don't know who you have your hosting with, nor did you mention if you joined GVO (you can hold of on ShoeMoney, Affilorama and Wealthy Affililiate for now... though you probably want to sign-up for the Affilorama free account; as a learning resource). 

...so, I operating at a disadvantage here! sad

Anyway, your business "branded/hosted" website should be a WordPress blog.  If you are hosting with HostGator "baby" account, you can have unlimited WordPress blogs.  WordPress is the industry standard for getting free organic traffic from the major search engines. And... you need traffic!  It has a ton of free Plugins that will help your business.

If you have a GVO Titanium account, you also can build unlimited WordPress blogs; and GVO has the E-Responder with unlimited auto-responder series up to 20,000 subscribers.  Plus, the GVO Titanium account includes the Easy Video Producer, a 10-seat Hot Conference, and the GVO Academy. 

A lot of people use Aweber.com for their auto-responder.  I use Getresponse.com.  If you budget is tight, send me a PM and I'll get you access to auto-responder that is free up to 250 subscribers.  It's a start.  Plus, you'll be on my LIST and you can have the messages that I send you... if you like them.  Or, you can re-write them; whatever.

I have undergone major operations in the last 10 months.

My hubby has chronic asthma.

If we can get your program set up...all our worries would be taken care of.
