From my experience, I can tell you that trying to promote "make money online" niche is highly competitive - Too many people trying to sell e-books and programs. If you are using PPC, cost per click is quite expensive.

What is the niche you are trying to promote? Have you made a study of what niche are available and what are the niches that you are going to target to promote?

It is also not easy to promote a niche about which you do not have much knowledge. When you are talking about a product, you need to have a fair understanding of the products features and functionality. If you are trying to promote a niche without much knowledge, your prospects will see through and will not buy from you. You may not be an authority but should have a good understanding of the niche that you are promoting.

In case you are trying to promote, have you spent time understanding the People Search Niche? What is the target segment? demography of people?

Any niche that you would like to promote, I suggest that you spend some time studying the niche, get an understanding of the niche, work out a business plan to promote the selected products/services in the niche.

Like any other business, online business too does need all the planning and execution

Just an update on the free seo services .

Well, well, well. I am even getting weekly updates on the progress of my site.

My site which is just few weeks old has now started ranking in the top 20 for some of the key words.

I think you should give it a go!

Srinath I made a post awhile back with this exact link in it. I dont think my topic was as succefull as your is. I just started using the service since you have Posted it here.
Last time I tried I had placed the wrong ftp so it did not work, and I did not find out untill 3 weeks later so I forgot all about it.

Now however I took advantage of the TEST FTP button

this is aGood service Srinath posted here.

When the page loads you will need to read a bit then click submit form
then you will need to look on the right and click FREE button
Then you will need to add your FTP
always remember to take advantage of the test ftp button

most ftp user names will be ****@yourdomain.com      Pass: whateveryourpass is to access ftp
Ftp can vary

I have started off with the free service.
They optimized my IT services company website (it is not a great looking site either). The content still needs to be revised.

It is online for just about a month and is on tops of Yahoo and Bing. I mean it is number one for a specific keyword right now.

They are sending me weekly reports with ranking details on Google, Yahoo and MSN.

I could go check the rankings based on their reports and they were correct.

What they have done from what I see is on page optimization and am not sure of the off page optimization though (generating backlinks etc;)

You will have to give them the FTP id and password to get it done.

I am afraid my teething problems with your program, are much more than teething problems now,  initially they say, they did not want to check my site, because they couldn't be bothered, and apologised for that, but where not in the right mood to do anything with the site, which is dreadful.

I have emailed them several times, and they ignore me each time, now frankly, because they give me no service, I don't want them to seo my site, because their logo will be on it, and I don't want to promote a site, that frankly doesn't care about its members.

I hope you have more success with them than I have.

I had real problems with this service at first, the man incharge took a disliking to me, for whatever reason, and became power mad, and didn't let his staff help me at all, but now he is out of the way, they have been really helpful, so my advice is to avoid the power mad boss, and go for the other staff.  I can give you their email address if you like.

My site does just has few backlinks. The on page optimization was good enough to get into the top pages. But, one should build backlinks if you have to stay there and inch forward.

Submitting to search engines and directories is just to let them know that you have arrived (on the web) and get your website indexed by them.

To create backlinks, you will have to spend considerable time and effort visiting many sites, getting them to link to you, posting comments on different forums...........

Takes time, but eventually worth the effort with all the free traffic you get.
