Topic: After waiting 3 weeks I finally got a response from AdWords

Well, I finally heard from Google after waiting three weeks about why my AdWords account was banned.  Apparently, my advertising was "egregious".  They couldn't cite any specifics.  It was just "egregious".

Also, they "sometimes issue warnings", but I guess I was so "egregious" that in my case it didn't warrant one.

So be forewarned, if you ever get banned they'll make you feel like a porn peddler.  lol

Then to add insult to injury, they didn't even address my request to credit my remaining balance back to my credit card.

It's truly unbelievable that a company can act with such arrogance when dealing with their paying customers.

If it weren't such a pain in a** I would give up my Gmail accounts.

Chris how "big" of Google to finally address your concerns. The generic reason that they cut off your account is just awful. It's such a shame when corporations like Google get so huge that they feel they can treat people who have been great customers for so long as badly as they treated you and others.  And I don't see how they can get away with keeping your balance?!  Cut off your account, give you a BS reason why they did it and then keep your money....I call that theft.

Ya i asked them why as well and felt the same vibe

But google is only 30% of online traffic so lets go grab the other 70% :-)

also i thought they credit your account before they bill you? did this change before their rampage?

Allan I watched a special on Google a few weeks ago on TV. I believe their market share on searches is much larger than 30%, more like 70%.  It's about 30% of all online searches for people searches but Google does garner the biggest share of online searches in general. smile

Re: After waiting 3 weeks I finally got a response from AdWords

Okay, this is kind of hard because we're all so used to it now and it's become an actual dictionary-defined word, but try to think back to before it existed. Let's say an old business associate asked your opinion on a company name he/she envisioned being taken seriously enough to eventually become the biggest name on the Internet, and that name was "Google".

I'd have called that egregious...and preposterous too.

Not to make light of the issue, but it's so impossible to fathom what's going on in the minds of the people who perpetrated this bizarre course of action that my brain goes wonky just thinking about it. It's like they don't even seem to care that their position is so beyond the reach of rational thinking that they toss out words like "egregious" as if it's supposed to mean something. Ya gotta think it will eventually and inevitably come back and bite them in the ass, doncha?

Thats awesome info. It does make sense that Googles share on all online searches of that amount. but online traffic comes in a lot of forms and Searches is a Huge way to get some of that
