Topic: Step 2 FAQ

A ACME People Search Step 2 FAQ

Although it may seem pretty easy for some members with Internet knowledge, newcomers (to both Online business and Internet) or people with a not so big knowledge on Internet terms and procedures may get a lot of problems while completing Step 2, Monetize. This little FAQ will cover the most common questions posted on the ACME People Search Forum, in an easy and understandable way.

1.What is my Back Office?
Back Office is a term we use to address to our ACME member page. We call it back office because we can control everything going on with the program from this page.

•    Changing Affiliate IDs
•    Checking commissions and referrals
•    Checking the search engine traffic
•    Sending support tickets
•    Accessing the Forum, Webinars or Recorded Webinars
•    Checking our referral links.
This is all done in the ACME Back Office.

2.What is Step 2 about?
Step 2, Monetize, is about purchasing a domain name, hosting it on a hosting company’s server and uploading the people search engine files (website) to this domain. So, once you complete Step 2, your people search engine URL (address) will change from http://Acme-People-Search.com/xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx to http://yourdomain.com.

3.Am I required to complete Step 2?
If you want to receive ACME commissions and raise your people search affiliate links display rate from 35% to 65%, yes, it is required. However, you are not obliged to complete it to keep the referral links you created on Step 1.

If you think this program is trying to trick you and get your money, since you have to pay to complete Step 2, then you can take your time to consider whatever completing it will benefit you.

4.Why should I complete Step 2?
If you are considering ACME People Search as a business, and you want to profit it in the long run, you should complete Step 2 to raise your people search engine display rate and to receive ACME commissions.

Having a domain name, in Online business, is as important as having a physical place in regular business. Take a video game seller for instance. He can purchase products from a reseller and sell then to costumers at his house, but if he opened a shop, which includes costs, costumers would fell more comfortable about purchasing from him, right?
Many people already own one or even several domain names. They work hard on branding those domains, monetizing then and making then profitable. Hosting a people search engine on your on domain is way better then promoting products simply using a normal web page because you are offering your visitors a free service.

5. What are the options to complete Step 2?
It depends on your sponsor, the person who referred you to the program, but most of the times, you will have 3 options: GDI, HostGator and LunarPages.

5.1 GDI
GDI is a short for Global Domains International. Its plan costs $10/month and it includes a dotws (.ws) domain, website hosting (DNS, Site builder, Parked Domain), 10 email addresses with POP/IMAP/web access, fully managed 24/7 site monitoring, 100 mb disk storage per account, 10 gigs of monthly bandwidth, and a MLM (Multi Level Marketing) business opportunity.

GDI new members get a 7 days free trial period. Account can only be canceled though phone contact. GDI servers don’t support SQL databases!

5.2HostGator
HostGator is a very popular hosting company. They offer different plans, starting from $4.95/month. The domain name must be purchased separately. A dotcom (.com) domain costs about $15/year.

HostGator supports SQL and are managed though Cpanel. Users can easily install CMS (content manager system) softwares, such as Joomla and Drupal, WordPress blogs, phpBB forums and much more.

The HostGator affiliate program is free and is integrated in the ACME program for members who complete Step 3 and flip their Super Affiliate Switch.

5.3 LunarPages
Lunar Pages is somewhat like HostGator. Its starter plan costs $2.95/month, includes 1 email account, 1 SQL database and 1 FTP account, 50GB monthly bandwidth. Domain are purchased separately for $19.95/year.

6.What is the best option?
If I could choose my Step 2 hosting company, I’d choose HostGator. But at the time I signed up to the ACME program, I was offered only GDI, so I had to go with it.

7. Do I need any geeky HTML knowledge to create my site?
No, you don’t. The process to upload the people search files, embedded with your referral links, to your domain is automatic and guided. All you need to do is follow some steps, use the information you receive from your hosting company on your Step 2 back office and the files will be uploaded.

8. Can I customize my site?
Yes, you can. Either on GDI, HostGator or Lunar Pages, members are allowed to either customize their people search engine and upload other pages to the domain, such as personal pages, other business pages, create Blogs or Forums (limited to HostGator and Lunar Pages).

9.What is the Pre-sell page?
The Pre-sell page is a referral link hosted in your domain. Different from your people search engine, you are not allowed to change your pre-sell page. It can be used to effectively promote the ACME business opportunity.

Only members who complete step 2 have a pre-sell page.

10.How come my domain name is already in use?
Some people choose a domain name and cancel their accounts. It is not recorded to the ACME database so even though the domain is available in the Internet, it is not available in the ACME program because someone has already taken it.

This is a somewhat common problem members have. The solution is actually very simple.

10.1 How do I solve this problem?
Open a step 2 support ticket from your Back Office or register on the Forum and send Trish, the Tech Manager, a Private Message. She will help you solving this problem.

11. How does Step 2 commission fee works?
Step 2 commission fee is something not clear to many members. The regular ACME commission fee for step 2 is $2 ($10 with the performance bonus). Members may not receive this commission directly from acme but rather from GDI (GDI) or HostGator (FLIP).

If your referral joins under your GDI downline, you will not earn ACME step 2 commission (Forced Matrix, Forced Hosting). If you are a super affiliate and your referral complete step 2 with your HostGator affiliate link, you won’t be paid ACME Step 2 commissions as well.

To earn ACME Step 2 regular referral commissions, you mush flip off your super affiliate switch and turn off both Forced Hosting and Forced matrix.

12.What is the GDI “sign up sauce”?
The GDI “Sign up Sauce” is function offered to members who complete Step 3. The “sign up sauce” is formed by two different tools, the GDI Forced Matrix (FM) and the GDI Forced Hosting (FH).

12.1 What is the GDI Forced Hosting?
When your GDI Forced Hosting is activated, your referrals will be offered only your GDI link to complete Step 2. This will help you build your GDI donwline first level. GDI pays its members $1 for every direct referral and for every indirect referral, down to 5 levels.
The Forced Hosting will help you build your GDI matrix first level.

12.2 What is the GDI Forced Matrix?
The GDI Forced Matrix consists in a rotation system, in which you can include your ACME referrals. Say you include 3 referrals (A, B and C), and yourself (D) in your Forced Matrix. Once you get a new referral (E), he will be offered referral A’s GDI affiliate link. If he completes step 2, he will be assigned to referral A’s downline directly and to your downline, but on a lower level. Both of you will earn $1 from GDI every month, from referral E. New referrals will be rotated through members B, C , D and start all over again.

13. Earning from Adsense
As the Adsense policies only allow people with their own domain names to customize and use Adsense ads on their pages and earn money from the Google program when people just click on those ads, to visit the advertised URL, branding your people search engine under your domain name will let you put Adsense ads on the search results pages of your people search engine.

Remember that all you have to do is enter your Adsense ID on the "Add/Edit IDs" page in the ACME Member's Back Office to automatically embed the Adsence ads. You don't need to be concerned about editing the pages or whatever, unless you want to.

The Forced matrix will help you build your GDI matrix down to the 5th level, making a substantial recurring income.

Re: Step 2 FAQ

Thanks. Yeah the same thing goes on in my profile. It shows Andre Love. I believe this is due to the bad words typing and stuff, because there is a "shi*" on my surname.

Great post Andre!

I guess Milton, you and I got Step 1, step 2 and Step 3 covered.  Just one thought, I think AdSense income stream fall under Step 2 right?  You can start with AdSense after branding your search engine.

Where you read this? Is it somewhere on Adsence policies? I'm from Brazil and when I subscribed to Adsense, it took me about 1 week to receive my ID, I don't think it will take any longer for people from any other place in the world. However, you should chose English as your main language and as your website language.

Hi..I live in the UK and it took them 2 attemps to send me my Pin number through the post....

If you dont get it within about 30 days first time you can ask for them to resend it.....

You also need to confirm your phone number with them and your bank account...It all takes time but im sure you will get there......

Nice edit for adding the Adsense Info.  But I noticed the very last line of your post got separated from item 12.2.

Hello Andre.

I have a question for you.

6.What is the best option?
If I could choose my Step 2 hosting company, I’d choose HostGator. But at the time I signed up to the ACME program, I was offered only GDI, so I had to go with it.

Why would you have chosen HostGator? Can you please explain to us how HostGator is better for you than GDI or Lunar Pages?

Thanks,
David

I think, i can answer your question... for step 2, how hostgator better is, you can host unlimited domains, unlimited disk space, unlimited bandwidth, cpanel with fantastico, just one click you can install wordpress,joomla..ect  and very very best support!

If you have many domains? hostgator is best and mainly why i am saying HG is best, their support is excellent! and you can host your step 2 with GDI! but in GDI you can't able to create sub-domain and you can't able to install CMS like wordpress, joomla but their site builder is good, and i don't know lot about Lunar Pages!

Hello. I don't know how Lunarpages works, but it seems that it really looks like Hostgator. I can't give you a clear position between LunarPages and Hostgator/GDI, since I lack the relevant information to answer you such a question.

However, I can tell you that the biggest motive that makes me prefer Hostgator over GDI is the support of SQL databases.I mean, since GDI doesn't have this kind of support at all, you can't install Wordpress blogs, Joomla or any other kind of CMS on your domain. All you can do is upload webpages using FTP or use the site editor to create new pages. It may be ok for some members, but it is definitely not OK for me.

Using Wordpress self hosted installations is one of the bigger benefits of owning your own domain (or any other CMS software, to manage your pages and your different subdomains). I mean, the technology advances are making this available for us, so why should we use things from the last century, since new and faster methods have already been invented?

So, this is the reason why I would choose Hostgator hosting over GDI's. Oh, depending on the type of domain you choose, Hostgator's unlimited domain hosting may be even cheaper than GDI's one domain hosting plan.

What about you? Did you choose GDI? Hostgator? Would you like to share your experience?

Yes
