Grrr! Either my ISP is being slow, or GDI being slow to forward email to me. I've authenticated with GDI my email forward to my email address, but have not received confirmation from APS yet. Will refresh email just now, been waiting for 10 mins already.
Like to thank you for this new rule in day since joined GDI got 2 join under me. Now if I had joined when first started thinking of it would of had 29 more according to records at people search. If they keep joining like this I have GDI paid for in first month from downline.

Saw some of our members having the similar problem.
Based on my own try,
1. You have to create a valid email address using xxxxx@your domain name .ws first in GDI back office.
2. Then put / copy and paste this email to your APS back office. Click update.
3. You will receive a confirmation email from APS on this email address change. You must click the activation link to authorise the change.
4. Then logout from APS back office and login again. You should have seen your new email address with .ws in your backoffice now.
Try it out and see whether your problem has been solved or not.

Tissa just said on the webinar that he is making another change to allow anyone with a Hostgator, Lunarpages, or StartLogic web hosting account to set up an email in those accounts. So you still need to do the same thing. Set up an email address in your web hosting account. You can then use the forwarding feature to forward all emails to your primary email address. Make sure you set up your new email address in your ACME profile. Then add it to yourPaypal account. Tissa will change the Affiliate agreement to reflect these new changes.

When a program becomes as popular as Acme People Search has become, unfortunately that also means more people who try to cheat the program. Just like it means more people who cry scam when they don't succeed. With success comes a much bigger target for the bad guys. It's the same reason Microsoft's Windows operating system is targeted by more hackers than any other operating system: It's more popular than all the other operating systems.
The proof board shows the 125 most recent payments that included guaranteed commissions of at least $125 - including any payments to cheats. Unfortunately, all of the APS accounts below were paid referral fees. Below are the fake names that were provided when creating the APS accounts, the (real?) names per PayPal, the PayPal transaction IDs and amounts, and the APS usernames. The APS accounts have all been disabled, but I updated their APS accounts with their PayPal names so at least the fake names no longer appear on the proof board.

But I will say that these are just some examples of larger schemes to defraud Acme People Search. I'm aware of the problem, and many changes will be made shortly to eliminate such fraud. It's all a function of the massive growth and popularity of APS, but I won't let it continue.

I'm so glad you are on top of these things! It's too bad that some would stoop so low for a few extra dollars! But unfortunately there are plenty of them out there.
Just pull the weeds out, and throw the rotten apples away, and let's roll! We've got a lot of good people in APS to let a few bad once take the wind out of our sail!

I also update it, but still it shows that I have to update it.
And I also have logout and in again.

I think the update notice is otomaticaly there , the point is :
if you had seen your email@yourhostingdomain already on your APS back office and that email has been added to your PayPal Account , then it would be just fine, you will get your commission

Gary is correct, and I want to further clarify:
The new email address you enter into your APS back office must share the domain name that you used to complete Step 2. So for example, if your domain name under Step 2 is "tissa-people-search.com", then payment will only be sent to [whatever]@tissa-people-search.com.
So the domain name can be registered through GDI, HostGator, Startlogic, JustHost or LunarPages, but the domain name for your email address must be the same domain you used to complete Step 2.
If the domain name for your email address on file is not the same as the domain you used to complete Step 2, you will not be paid. However your earnings will carry over, and will be paid once you have met this requirement.
Although referral fees can be earned by APS accounts that have completed Step 1 only, such referral fees will not be paid until you have completed Step 2 and updated your email address as described above.
This requirement was introduced to reduce fraud using free email addresses (see the beginning of this thread for more details). Thanks for your help in preserving the integrity of the Acme People Search program.

I allowed some extra time for folks to update their email addresses, but all eligible accounts have now been paid ($501,894.00 to date!) As a courtesy, I'll make payments on Monday as well (Aug. 31) for anyone who hasn't had a chance to update their email address per above. The next payment date after that will be Sept. 14, 2009 as regularly scheduled (no exceptions).
If you weren't paid it's either because you didn't update your email address in time (don't worry - your earnings will carry over), you didn't reach the minimum payout threshold of $200 (includes the $125 I give you), or your account was disabled for violating the Terms and/or Referral Program Agreement.
Update - Monday, August 31, 2009 11:40 AM EDT:
To allow extra time to update your email address, I processed another batch of payments ($505,645.00 in APS referral fees paid to date). If you weren't able to update your email address as required, your earnings will carry over to the next regularly scheduled payment date (Sept. 14, 2009). Make sure you have updated your email address by then!

Hate that you had to make this rule, but you have to do something to fight against fraud and such. But hopefully, this change will cut down the fraud dramatically.
I just created my email at my .ws site, updated my Acme back office, and added the new email to my Paypal account ... while listening to the Webinar!
Ditto here. I set up and forwarded my .ws address as well as adding it to the system and Paypal, also. I agree something had to done about this fraud.
There is enough bashing and bad info going around without giving the fraudsters and bashers any more ammo.
Kudos, Tissa, for immediately addressing and fixing this problem before it got out of hand!

StartLogic gives bad info when setup way they tell you using pop mail get server not found. So used mail.domain name like most use and see if that works. They tell you to use username.StartLogic.com.
Now GDI was so easy to setup but I not about to switch over as then I lose all current promotions so hope the email works soon.

50 mins still no email takes 3 hours for me to get email at yahoo which I spend $20 a year for since 1997. So will see if they worse then yahoo which is known for being slow receiving mail.
Try using there help and like normal half there link are 404 file not found.

Good luck its been 4-5 hours still not received email.
Wish they let us add a domain just for email from GDI. If knew was going to have to use it for people search site would of picked different one.
Start Logic was our only option when I joined.
Everything about them sucks.
I want cpanel got 9 servers so why do I have to use substandard expensive hosting?
None there help documentation works what they tell you to do does not work.
Guess should thank them as my account due for renewal in 4 weeks. I be canceling them and switching to GDI.

Hey I'm pretty sure that you can use the GDI email also. Whichever hosting company that's used with Acme People Search. It's just to show that you and your credit card are verified and not fraud

I would like straight forward details and advice to what is happening, and why it is happening. Can someone explain the process. If we enter one email over the other. What does it gain us affiliates?
I have setup all my Id's and such through all the three steps. I have a GDI User Id and password, and have setup an email address within GDI. When I first joined GDI, I added my personal email address. So what is Tissa really asking me (us) to do here? Do I need to add my website.ws email address now?

Yes. Due to some fraud issues you have to add your websites email in the back office. It's very easy to forward it to whichever email you want and to add it to your paypal account. I posted the instructions above you on how to do the Paypal part. Again he is doing this since people are abusing the system
