The only way that you can use content from here without violating copyright laws would be to:

When writing an article and use a section of content giving author and link to the original posting, for example: According to AUTHOR NAME, "the content i copying will go here" and what I do is hyperlink the author to his/her original content. Now this would be an article you are writing about a specific topic and you would then utilize the quote in context with what you are writing about.

You can also, create referral links to posts in this forum, this is an excellent feature for blogs or websites. Just give a brief synopsis of the post content and then link it out. The synopsis needs to be keyword rich so that you get indexed.

You can also pretty much take any content from anywhere, read it and then write it in your own words with added content that truly makes it your own. I do not recommend you do this unless you are good at it. Meaning, the content can in no way even look familiar to the original. What I do here is take several articles that are on the same topic, re-write it into one complete article that covers key points from the originals but nothing is copied, it is all my own.

The key to writing is to make a name for yourself, copying content that others write only hurts your growth on the internet. You want to become an expert in your own right, not a copy of someone else.

Any content whether it be emails, websites or this forum, and I mean any written content is copyrighted!

Hope this helps you out Shawn,

Amy

You already have a post in regards to this: http://acme-people-search-forum.com/pos … 3/#p104093

There is some really good advice here to help you create your site. There is no easy way to learn this aspect of your business, it took me days to get it right. Once I did, creating websites and adding content is quite easy.

Just do it smile

Hi Shawn,

You can make a post original by trying to reword or rephrase then, or best enough, rewrite them.  Read about APS in the forum and then try to do them in you own words.  You can get a quoted message from others who write about APS its just that you make sure you have them quoted and give credit to the original writer.

Other than that, if you can simply rephrase, reword or rewrite something then I guess it is good to post on your website.  It is similar with spinning an article wherein an original article is spun to create a new article.  The spinning process rewords or rephrases the article to somehow create a new one.  But the content (or idea) would still be the same.

Better yet, look for an article about APS then use this site to create a new one:

I hope this helps.

Shawnb1975, Welcome to the forum. I agree with Amy about making a name for yourself. You just need to get creative and write something different and original about the S.O.S. Get started and set a pace that you can keep up with and go for it!

Re: Im promoting Acme People Search, can I use some of your words to post

Amy's point is excellent.

I disagree with those who would tell you to try to rewrite what someone else has said.  It's OK to quote someone now and then to support your own position, but not as a habit.  What you can do, though, is read what's said and *explain* it in your own words.

Think of it like this:  you watched a movie or you just finished reading a book  or article and you want to talk to your friend about it.   When you write for your website, you should 'talk' about what you've learned or what you know or what you saw in just the same way you would if it were a movie or book.  You wouldn't memorize it and then try to duplicate the contents of a book or the script of a movie.  You wouldn't try to re-write the book or the script, either.  What you would do is talk about what you remembered and why you liked it or why you thought it was important.  This is what Amy was referring to when she said what you write should not resemble in any way what you read.

Remember, to grow your business you'll have to help others with their business.  How can you do that if you haven't processed the information and come up with your own conclusions?  When you copy/rewrite - how do you know that the person writing the information is correct in what they say?  How would you know when there was an update or change that needed to be made?  You need to establish yourself as an expert - quoting someone else makes them the expert, not you.

Yes, i think Amy and Mary hit the nail on the head. By writing your own content your are branding yourself. Write about your expieriances, how they have influenced your view on things. When people will see the value, and you know your stuff they will start to know you, like you and trust you. Make the posts interesting so its fun to read.

Re: Im promoting Acme People Search, can I use some of your words to post

Well Shawn if you really want to make it big in this business...then you'd want your own original content which to post on your website.

Just like Mary said, you want people to see you as the expert and you wouldn't want them to be redirected to other websites...by quoting others and providing their names or signatures(which is mandatory if you want to barrow their words) this is exactly what you are doing, you are wasting your traffic!.

Keep in mind that the rule around the web is to have your content articles/posts/writings  just 20% different from one-another. So what you can basically do is read somebody's work and change something here and there...but you still won't want to have the same, exact phrases with the original.

So a simple way to do it is just reading somebody's own and then putting the work in your own words. I'm telling you "this isn't that hard!". Actually after you write a little you just get the hang of it and it sort of binds you in the flow. So practice, practice, practice.

You can copy others posts/article/etc. but as there are some rules to that...it really isn't worth it.

So do as you deem right...but I've tolled you, it is by far-best to have your own content published and it really is easy.

So wish you luck and success!

W.Matthew
