There seems to be a lot of new topics on blogging and generating backlinks recently. Also I have been receiving PMs from a few members here in the forum asking for where to begin and frankly there are just so many ways to start. But I would like to highlight on blogging today.

Today I was looking for tips on blogging throughout the forum and I realise there seem to be a lack of tutorials on blogging mainly for beginners at least So i decided to just scratch the surface on blogging if your new.

Before I begin I just want to be honest with everyone here that I am not a pro blogger nor is my website ranking that high in the Alexa ranking. But I would like to share some small positive results im getting from  my site which is about approximately 18 days old.

Recently I’m starting to get some traffic to my main site and I even got a signup just very recent  from it. And also there was email to me from one of the visitors in the site. Bottomline I am getting some results. Now I would need to learn more SEO, generate more traffic and learn how to capture the traffic  generated.

If your very new to internet marketing , seeking ways to market the APS and you are  already advertising in safelists and traffic exchange , it is highly recommended you start your own blog. In the long run you will definitely see the results.

Why A blog?

• For one, when you are doing internet marketing you at least need some form of website, and a simple blog that can represent yourself would be great.

• When your doing Article marketing in the resource box you may want to include your website, in this case your blog.
  If your promoting Acme People Search you  will want to display your people search Engine in your blog.

• Again you can provide more value for your visitors in the event they are seeking more info about the APS, your blog has contents detailing this.

Choosing a blogging platform

Now when choosing a blogging platform , I highly recommend anyone to get a self hosted Wordpress blog. (Not the free Wordpress blog)  If you have Hostgator  you can simply create one by. But what If I want a free blog? I do not want to pay anything

May I suggest a google blogger blog?  The reason why Blogger is a better alternative to a free wordpress is :

1)Free Wordpress:  you cant use javascript you wont be able to insert your search engine into your blog.
2) Free wordpress account is not very tolerant to Affiliate link as compared to a blogger blog.
3)You cant add plugins to a free wordpress blog, you cant use javascript
Reason 1 and 2 is a good enough reason to choose Blogger

Also just because it’s a free blog it does not mean you cant rank high on the search engine. As  a matter a fact if you make a search for “Acme People Search” on google the first  in google to come up is a Blogger blog!

WHAT DO YOU BLOG ABOUT?

You can write a lot, not just about Acme People Search , but anything related to internet marketing.  One way I find what most internet marketers blog does is that they also provide very valuable Internet marketing tips in their blog/site. Some go to the extent of  talking about anything internet technology. The key here is they provide very valuable interesting content post after post.  They make you want to revisit  their site.

INCLUDE your profile/contact details

The one thing I feel is lacking in most new bloggers is the lack of contact details, most will have the affiliate link  but no contact Email, Instant messaging. Be sure to put in an area where your visitors would be able to get access to immediately in the event they are interested in signing up  or simply seeking more information.

Some basic info would be

IM account(yahoo chat, Windows Messenger,  etc)>
SKYPE:
Phone number: (Yes I think its great to provide your telephone number)
Include your Facebook,Myspace account whatever
