Topic: Time management

Hi,

Had the urge to share this with you.
Some strange things are happening this month! Traffic has increased to my blogs and my capture forms are filling up nicely. I’ve written and released three press releases and converted them into articles spinning them in as many sites as I could. I’ve given as much focus to promoting my engine as the affiliate program. I think  I‘ve finally got a really unique niche to market my engine to.

Have I spent more time on-line than normal? No, actually a lot less

In fact I’ve reduced my time online dramatically. I introduced some badly missing discipline into my routine and I'm managing my online time 100%.  I Don’t go online unless I know exactly what I want to do, then I go in and do it. Clearly I’m thinking better off line, e.g  I came up with a good niche for my engine. I’m thinking about article ideas and I’m planning some new blogs, because my old ones didn’t cut the mustard. I’m also coming in with the sole intention of studying something on the forum and then getting off line.  I’m no longer experiencing the overwhelming frustration I experienced before or the burn out where I’d have to just switch off for 2 days.

Introducing a bit of planning and discipline may seem obvious and simple enough, however if you don’t implement it you’ll hit a wall.Get off line and plan the next step. I know on line is where we earn(in theory at least) money, but the old adage applies, it’s not the quantity of time but the quality. Be disciplined don't be an addict.

Re: Time management

Sounds like something that works. I agree. Sometimes you just need to log off and get lunch or dinner. Come back awhile later and jump in again, or even the next day if needed.

Hi Dave,

It is nice of you to share this.  Definitely I've been going online for hours and after I'm done I feel I didn't make any mileage with any of my campaigns.  This is definitely a good way to make sure you are going somewhere.  Getting online when needed and pushing pen and paper when planning.  Definitely a wise move to save time.  Useful tip big_smile

Absolutely, know how you feel! That's why I wrote this post because I've really felt the benefit this month of taking a step back and trying to use that thing between my ears.

Re: Time management

I think it's more than just about time management.  Ideally, to be at the peak productivity level, you'll have to get into the ZONE.  I talked about this in What Does It Mean To Treat APS As A Business?
