Topic: Adding Content to Your WordPress Blog!

With all the different aspects we have to manage in our Internet marketing business, it is sometimes fairly difficult to sit down and write additional posts to our blogs.  Yet, we have to add content… lot's of it.

Some marketers hire others to do this for them. This costs money!  It's an additional expense that many of us do not need.

However, if  you are using a hosted WordPress blog you already have some of this functionality built in, and sitting on your Dashboard.  You may or may not know it, but it's there.  So, why not use it.  This is added value to having a WordPress hosted blog.  In my opinion, added values like this more than compensate for the low $9.95 per month charge that I pay for my HostGator 'Baby' account.

Here is a short video showing a quick and easy way to add content.  Or, should I say a video on how I do it.  I believe I set the volume a bit too high. roll  So, you might want to turn yours down a bit.

Hello Rick

Just watched your video! Previously I did sign up for FTS but I didn't complete the steps, I set the author status and such and cant recall where exactly I stopped.

You just reassured me that all posts are being kept as drafts and are not published immediately, I knew I had control over the posts ( I can delete and such) but What I didnt realise it would be saved as drafts first ! This is great because I was worried I might get unrelated posts to my blog!

Thanks Rick for the video! big_smile

Hi Rick,

Great way to get suggested content for our Wordpress blog.  I did sign up with FTS long time ago and never used it since I have been busy with PPC and blogging.  However, now that I've read this, I followed the video and added my wordpress blog in FTS.  It is already approved but it has been 48 hours already but there are still no data available in my posts.  It only contains my published post.  Could I have missed something?  You said doing this I can receive posts daily for me to evaluate and edit if necessary. hmm  If this will work, this will make content making for my Wordpress blog a lot easier.  You got +1 for me here.

Hey jagestipona,

I wouldn't worry about a 48 hour delay.  There are a ton of members that want to get their material circulated.  However, if this continues past 96 hours, I would have some cause for concern.  You may want to go back and check your 'title.'  There is a video in that section that describes in detail what you need to consider when establishing your title.  But, my guess is that you set it up properly and traffic will soon be headed your way.

Keep me updated on your progress!

Hi Rick,

Thanks for this post, adding content to our sites is certainly very time consuming and I think you have hit on a solution here.

Do you get much traffic in return from your articles circulating on Free Traffic System. Just curious because I'm thinking hard about this system.

All the best,
David

David - FTS delivers great backlink support to your blog posts or articles. You have to be conscientious about using it (it takes a much longer time to spin an article to my satisfaction) and there are some spinning tricks that I should post to help you maximize your trackbacks without them looking fake. But it is fantastic. They have (or used to have) a one-time offer that you can leverage to get lifetime Pro access for a pretty reasonable price (I'm sorry that I don't remember the details, but I think that your leftover $45 plus next month's MAP money would come close to covering it). When I signed up it was offered at a huge discount to the $497 they list on the comparison page.

As I wrote here, the articles you receive are pretty awful. Many of them will not really make you jump and sing. It's important to either use Rick's method of setting the posts as drafts or else turn on "pre-approve" for your blogs if you elect to subscribe to a Pro membership.

Hey Dave,

As the "deranged pengy" says, it is a good way of developing backlinks.  That's the 'other' aspect of the FTS that I did not cover in my video.  I received another backlink ping today on an article I did about six weeks ago.  And, FTS is a good way of building content.  There are a ton of members anxious to get backlinks from you to help their SEO/SEM/SERPs efforts, or to improve their ranking with the search engines (to keep this in simple English for those newer marketers that might read this).

(See More Here: http://acme-people-search-forum.com/topic/8873/)

Since the 'pengy' commented on price, I'll do my best to give you an update.  I have the Pro membership.  I pay $27/month. It doesn't give me a huge advantage over the free membership.  Gary Chappelle recommended it to me when I met him at a Tissa Meet-and-Greet.  He recommended I sign-up for the free membership.  That's what I would recommend to others.  I'm not aware of any lifetime membership, so they've probably done away with that.

The only things that really distinguish between the paid and free membership is that I can post on 40 blogs, where free members can still post on 30.  I get to submit 3 keyword sets vs 2 for free members.

I look forward to anything the 'pengy' has the time to write on syntax.  I found it a bit rough when I first started.  It took me a lot of time... too much time in the beginning.  On a couple of occassions, I spent so much time that I got locked out of their website... which translates into losing all my work.  roll sad

So, I started doing all my work in MS Word so I could mostly do a copy-and-paste when I was in the FTS back office.  And, I would highly recommend that to anyone.

If anyone is interested, I can send you one of my older articles to show you how I set up my syntax in MS Word.  Just send me a PM with your e-mail address.  Or, if you have a Skype address... that would probably been even better!

All the Best,

Rick

Re: Adding Content to Your WordPress Blog!

Thanks for the info, 'Pengy' and Rick you have both given me something to think about. The only reason I'm not rushing into this is because I am fairly well using up all my available time on my present marketing. It is something I will consider though when I can free up some time.

Cheers,
David

Re: Adding Content to Your WordPress Blog!

My FTS account is not adding content to my Wordpress blog (under Hostgator) after 96 hours now.  I redefined my WP user and redefined MY BLOG in FTS. sad  I'll wait another 48 hours. hmm

Hi Rick,

FTS still not adding drafs to my Wordpress blog.  My wordpress is only on a 2nd level of my domain and not a subdomain.  Could that be the issue?   I have no other idea why it doesn't work.

Yeah, it's been much too long.  It should have pumped out numerous articles by now.

Does it tell you that they accepted your Url in your back office?  I'd check that first.  While your at it, make sure you have your title matching your content.

Send me your Url in a PM.  That might tell me something.  I'm not sure what a 2nd level domain is.

We need to get this problem fixed!

Nice video Rick, I actually had signed up with FTS long ago but am just now getting going with them as I'm just getting my WP blogs going. I really like FTS, thanks for the warning on pasting content over from Word, it didn't happen to me  but it's something others will benefit in knowing. I had watched their user videos and also the Adobe PDF does forewarn us to work in Word or Notepad and then copy/paste the content on over to the article spinner.

Hi Linda,

Thanks for the great additional points!  One should take the extra time to watch the training videos and print the Adobe PDF file. I relied on it heavily when I first got started.  It served as my 'bible.'

I can understand how it "didn't happen to you" since you are just getting started. lol  You just have to use some text editor to created your article.  The problem I additionally had was their server timing me out, then having to repeat all that work.  And, it's not just the article.  Plan out your "spin" (this is title changing) your keyword phrases that replace selected words in your text (your content changing),  and your website urls(these stay relatively consistent).

I think you are going to be extremely pleased with your WordPress blogs, Linda.

Hello All.

Just an FYI:  If you have Magic Article Rewriter, you can copy and paste your spun article from it to Free Traffic System.  MAR is compatible with FTS.
